A Yorkshire weather enthusiast says conditions are 'getting silly now' after recording bitterly cold temperatures as low as minus 6C on Friday night into Saturday

The account recorded temperatures of lower than -6°C in Thixendale in the Yorkshire Wolds.

The account, @northyorkswx, said: "This is getting silly now. The 8th consecutive morning where somewhere in #NorthYorkshire has fallen below -6°C.
