Bramley Buffaloes coaching team of Paul Cook and Mark Butterill have moved to quash rumours of an imminent move to the National League by signing a new two year deal with the Co-operative Conference National outfit.
Speaking after his side's outstanding 40-16 victory over Dewsbury Celtic, head coach Cook was keen to explain why he's sticking with the Buffaloes: "The club is moving forward all the time both on and off the park and I'm enjoying the challenge.

"We've only lost a handful of games in the two and a half years I've been here but the competition seems to be getting better. This year it looks like we face a thrilling fight for the title with Celtic Crusaders and Warrington but anything could happen before the end of the season.

"Losing to Featherstone Lions in last year's Grand Final has almost strangely been a good thing in my mind. It has spurred all of us on to repeat the 2006 triumph and has definitely made us less complacent about the task we face.

"I know that rumours are flying around all the time and I see it as a compliment that my name has been linked with some big jobs in the National Leagues but my focus is on the Buffaloes and I'm enjoying every minute here," added Cook who played professionally with Leeds Rhinos, Huddersfield Giants and Bradford Bulls.

The 31-year-old, who works as a part-time postman, added: "There's also a number of players that I've brought into the club who always give 100 per cent and it's great to play a part in their ongoing development.

"There's still a lot to achieve here at what is a young set up but one which carries a lot of tradition and still attracts a lot of passion from supporters," added Cook.

Buffaloes chairman, Martyn Cheney, is delighted with the new deal

"It's fantastic to have Paul and Mark on board for a further two years," he said. "A number of clubs have been sniffing around and this now allows us to concentrate on regaining our title."
