But we all know the usual spots can get a bit crowded, especially when the weather is warmer. So if you fancy getting out in to nature with plenty of space around you, check out these top spots and hidden gems, which are dotted all over the Leeds area.
1. Tong and Fulneck Circular

2. Rodley Nature Reserve
Rodley Nature Reserve is a wetland reserve created in 1999. This scenic reserve is a relaxing destination, where you can take in the beautiful surrounding nature as you walk.
3. Kirkstall Valley Nature Reserve

4. York Gate
Adel's York Gate garden packs quite a punch for its one acre proportions. It never fails to intrigue its visitors with its fourteen garden rooms, linked by a series of clever vistas. The garden opens on April 14 and you'll need to book.
5. Eccup Reservoir
Eccup Reservoir offers beautiful views across the water. You can walk around the edge of the reservoir, soaking up the splendid scenery as you do so.
6. Japanese Garden, Horsforth Hall Park
Originally opened in 1987, the Japanese Garden is a celebration of traditional oriental gardens, with various features and materials used to represent the mountains, woodland areas, waterfalls, lakes and open grasslands found in Japan. It was restored in 2009 following a 90,000 makeover.
