Bramley mum and girl, 4, in fire rescue

A MUM and her four-year-old daughter were saved by firefighters after a house fire in Bramley.
The pair had fallen asleep on the sofa when the fire started in the kitchen of their flat on Snowden Lawn.

Firefighterswere called when neighbours smelt burning and heard the family's smoke alarm.

The crew led the mum and child out of the flat before tackling the fire, which started in the oven.

Blue watch manager Andy Wooler said: "It could have been a very different story. If the neighbours hadn't heard the smoke alarm, they might have died."

The kitchen was badly damaged in the blaze, at around 11pm on Friday, June 19.
