The Council has now agreed to lease the building to them for a year for a peppercorn rent, enabling the group to run a whole host of events from the centre including mother & toddler sessions, arts & craft workshops and holding public surgeries for the police and other organisations.

Councillor Les Carter (Conservative, Executive Member for Neighbourhoods & Housing) told Bramley Today: "Moorside Tenants & Residents Association have done some fantastic work in their community and I am delighted that we have been able to help them lease the building, essentially for no charge.

"Centres such as this can play a pivotal role in their communities, providing valuable services and entertainment for youngsters, families and the elderly alike.

"Moorside TARA have some great ideas for the use of the centre that will ensure everyone in the community will be welcome."

He added: "They have been involved in running the centre for some time, and have some tremendous success. I am sure having use of this centre will enable them to continue their success and help even more people in Bramley in the year ahead."
