Two teams from Leeds Esprit recently took part in the Newcastle Open Team Gym Championships 2008, competing against teams from all over the country.
After our success in the Northern & Midlands Team Gym Championships, the club decided to put two teams in this competition.

Its Rubies team were awarded 1st place for a second time, and also took 1st place on floor and trampette, and 2nd place on tumble.

Its Sapphires team competed brilliantly in their first competition and came in 5th place, just missing out on 3rd by 0.25, and they also claimed 3rd place on floor.

A spokesperson for Leeds Esprit said: "Both teams have worked very hard for the last few months, perfecting their routines. This showed with the 2.35 increase in the Rubies score since their last competition.

"They showed a great team spirit towards each other, and their competitors, and are all looking forwards to the next competition!"

Leeds Esprit Gymnastics Club is run at Hough Top Court. The club offers opportunities in competitive, recreational, pre school and baby gymnastics during term time as well as running school holiday gymnastics camps.
