A teen band from Bramley have started the year on a high after making it through to the regional finals of a national talent competition.
Unknown Cause, who all met at Intake High School, breezed their way through to the Under 18s Live and Unsigned semi finals in Manchester last month and are now setting their sights on stardom.
Unknown Cause are vocalist Tom Milner from Halifax and drummer Tom Liley, who are both aged 16 and 15-year-old lead guitarist Sam Masterson from Yeadon, Steve Barlow from Beeston on rhythm guitar, and Sam Kelly from Pudsey on bass guitar.
The band formed four years ago and have had the current line up for two years.
They performed to an audience of around 800 people and competed against 13 other acts to make it through to the finals, which will be held in Manchester on Sunday, April 6.
Tom Milner said: "At the end of the semi-final they were calling out the acts through to the finals.
"Only seven would go through and our fans were all down at the front shouting and screaming Unknown Cause.
"When our name was called we ran back onto the stage and everything was crazy.
"It's a buzz to perform to our fans but to hear so many people clapping and cheering was amazing.
"This is our biggest audience to date by far and we can't wait to play at the regional final, but to play in London at the national final would be out of this world!"
The lads will be competing for a place in the Grand National Final in London to win a recording of their own complete album, the chance to work with vocal coaches and even record a track written by R'n'B star Lemar and Mark Hill, who was the producer for singer Craig David.
The band have sold almost 150 tickets for the event and if anyone would like to buy tickets, contact Sharon Clarkson at
