The forces' Sweethearts turned heads in Bramley in the name of charity.
The "naval officers" marched out in force on Saturday, March 8, to take in a whistlestop tour of Bramley in memory of fun-loving local resident Lyndsey Wilkinson who died from cancer aged just 24 in 2006.
In celebration of Lyndsey's outgoing personality, the friends decided they would best mark the occasion in fancy dress – and chose the 1940s style naval uniform, kindly provided by B Authentic of Huddersfield.
They collected funds in aid of Candlelighters, which provides information and awareness for children and adolescents with cancer, and their families.
Betty Griffin, 28, who organised this year's event, said: "Lyndsey might have had cancer but that was not what she was about."
The Forces' Sweethearts called in The Beacon public house.
