The supermarket has just opened the doors of its newest superstore in west Leeds, creating almost 200 new jobs.

The arrival of the 20,000 sq ft store has been welcomed by local people who were shocked by the sudden departure of Somerfield from the precinct last autumn.

It also means a much-needed pre-Christmas boost for the local economy, which has suffered a downturn after losing a number of businesses from the centre.

Delighted Bramley locals say a big name retailer is just what the area needed to breathe new life into the precinct ahead of a major £1 million regeneration .

Frozen foods giant Farm Foods is also due to open a new store in the coming months.
