Bramley own's teenage rock band Uknown Cause wowed the crowds at the final of a nationwide talent contest in London – but returned empty-handed.
The band, who formed at Intake High School, Bramley, were the only act from Yorkshire in the last stage of the Live and Unsigned Under 18s competition, having won a regional heat in Manchester.

Lead singer Tom Milner, 17, drummer Tom Lilley, 15, and guitarists Sam Kelly, Sam Masterson and Steve Barlow, all 15, competed against 15 other acts on Saturday at Fairfield Halls, Croydon. The contest was decided by text voting and a judging panel.

Around 80 fans from Leeds cheered the band on as they performed their entry, All Alone.

A grant from Leeds City Council's Youth Opportunity Fund paid for a coach to the venue, but they failed to finish in the top three as Geordie band Luxon Bute took the top prize of a recording contract.

Sam Kelly said: "To play to such a packed crowd and see and hear our fans shouting for us was an experience you can't describe."

Tom Milner added: "We certainly weren't 'All Alone' with our friends and family there to support us."
