Two violent car criminals tried to drag an 84-year-old man from his car in an attempt to rob him during a two-day crime spree in West Yorkshire.

James Harty and William McGinley targeted the vulnerable pensioner after he was tricked into stopping to give one them a lift.

Leeds Crown Court heard Harty, 19, and McGinley, 27 travelled to West Yorkshire from their home in Liverpool to commit offences in the Wakefield and Pontefract areas.
