Knifeman threatened to stab members of his family during Leeds crime spree

Daniel Rennison was locked up for 26 months over a series of offences between February and December last year.
Rennison went to his brother's home on Parkwood Crescent, Beeston, armed with a kitchen knife following an argument on the telephone on February 28.

Hide AdLeeds Crown Court heard Rennison's brother lives at the property with his partner and four children.
Ayesha Smart, prosecuting, said Rennison went to the address brandishing the weapon and confronted his brother's partner when she came outside.
Police were contacted and Rennison hid the knife in bushes before leaving the area.
On June 1 Rennison was spotted by police as he drove a BMW along Harehills Lane.
Checks revealed that the vehicle was uninsured.

Hide AdThe defendant refused to stop and and went through a red traffic light.
He mounted a pavement in a bid to get away from police before returning to the road and colliding with a Ford Galaxy.
Rennison then drove into a dead end before running from the vehicle but was caught after being chased by officers.
The 27-year-old was released on bail but was involved in another altercation with family members on August 25.

Hide AdMiss Smart said Rennison went to the home of his mother and her partner armed with a knife after rowing with them.
Rennison threatened to stab his step-father during a confrontation outside the property.
His step father picked up a piece of wood to defendant himself and told Rennison to leave
The defendant then kicked his step-father's car, causing around £500 worth of damage, before leaving on a motorbike.

Hide AdRennison was arrested at Mill Hill chapel in Leeds city centre on December 22 after police officers in the area were made aware that he was wanted.
Miss Smart said Rennison told the officers he was in possession of a hunting knife when he was arrested and the weapon was seized.
Rennison, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, failing to stop, having no insurance, driving without a licence, two offences of possession of a bladed article and possession of an offensive weapon.
He has previous convictions for possession of a firearm, theft and assault.

Hide AdSean Smith, mitigating, said Rennison committed the offences at a time when he was homeless and had taken to living on the streets.
Mr Smith said his client had been making good progress in turning his life around and his partner was expecting a child in a few weeks.
