A man was arrested after dozens of police officers were involved in an eight-hour stand-off in a Leeds suburb.

The 35-year-old man was yesterday being questioned on suspicion of a range of offences, including assault, possession of offensive weapons and threatening behaviour following the incident on Victoria Park Grove in Bramley.

Police were initially called shortly before 4am following reports of a domestic incident and concerns for the welfare of a man who had barricaded himself inside the semi-detached property.
