This year organisers took the light extravaganza up into the skies by creating a spectacular laser display projected from the top of seven city centre rooftops. The free Laser Light City show was created by Seb Lee-Delisle and allowed people to control the lasers from their phones. Here are some stunning photographs of Leeds Night Light 2020 taken by Yorkshire Evening Post photographer Tony Johnson.

Leeds Light Night 2020 was a bit different this year due to the coronavirus pandemic and instead the show was beamed up into the skies as part of the 'Laser Light City.

Laser Light City was created by BAFTA winning artist Seb Lee who said: "Arts events have become so few and far between recently because of coronavirus, and I wanted to do something that enables people to express their creativity in a unique and playful way."

Creator Seb Lee continued: "When else in your life would you have full control of huge sky lasers using your phone? It will be the first time we have done something of this scale in a city, and I hope it will be a spectacular and memorable experience for people of all ages in Leeds.”

The Light Night lasers were on top of seven city centre rooftops including Bridgewater Place, Wellington Place, the Parkinson Building, Merrion House and The Majestic.
