Leeds care home worker praises 'little heroes' from nursery school after morale boosting visit
Nursery school children gave care home residents and staff a much needed morale boost during a window visit.
Staff at Moorleigh Nursing Home in Kippax read stories to around ten youngsters from Little Learners nursery during the outdoor visit.

Hide AdThe children then gave pictures they had drawn in the nursery to residents.
Oona-mai Sharp is activities coordinator at Moorleigh House, which caters for up to 36 residents.
Oona-mai said: "The residents' faces were a picture. Their smiles were huge and there were even some happy tears.
"The young girls and boys aged one to four were waving and blowing kisses through the window and it brought a lot of joy and hope for each of our residents.

Hide Ad"The visit is still a hot topic in our care home and has had a lasting effect on their mental health.
"These times have been extremely tough for our residents, not being able to see their family for over a year and have the quality of life they deserve.
"Having this visit from the Little Learners really boosted the morale of residents and staff.
"We just want to thank them for all they’ve done. They truly are our little heroes in this time of need and we couldn’t thank them enough."

Hide AdLousie La Porta and Lauren Beck, who run Little Learners nursery, decided they wanted to arrange the visit.
Louise said: "We contacted the local care home because we know residents are unable to see their loved ones.
"We wanted to spread some love within the community.
"It was lovely. It was very emotional. You don't always realise that everyone is going through a difficult time.
"The residents and the children absolutely loved it.
" The residents were just so happy to see the children. There was a lovely atmosphere."
