Leeds charities celebrate community cash donation from J Murphy and Sons

Seven good causes from across Leeds have been given a boost from a new £100,000 community fund set up by family-owned construction company J Murphy and Sons.

As part of its support for the communities where it works, Murphy gave all its employees the chance to choose where the Christmas Community Fund would be distributed in areas where the company operates across the UK and Ireland.

The charities and organisations which benefitted from the £12,500 allocated to the company’s Leeds office this year were Leeds Irish Health and Homes, Mission Christmas Leeds, which provides gifts for disadvantaged children, Zarchy Food Bank to help buy beds for children, St George’s Crypt, which provides care and support to homeless and disadvantaged adults in Leeds, Richmond Hill Primary School, the Irish Centre Foodbank and the Santa Trail in East Leeds.
