Leeds is braced for a heavy thunderstorm this evening.

Parts of South Yorkshire are currently experiencing heavy rain, thunder and lightning and the stormy weather is moving north towards Wakefield.

It's been a muggy day in Leeds with temperatures reaching 26C.

After a spell of bright sunshine this afternoon, the clouds have now rolled in and weather experts at the Met Office predict a 60 per cent chance of a thunderstorm in Leeds from 5pm to 7pm.

A yellow weather warning for a thunderstorm covering most of the UK has been issued, meaning there could be flooding and disruption in a few places.
