Swinnow Primary School's 300 pupils took to the streets to try to break a world record.
The pupils joined tens of thousands other students across the UK in a bid to create the largest 'walking bus'.

The children took the 'bus' yesterday morning by marching out from their school gates on Swinnow Road to raise awareness of speeding
drivers and to also raise funds for the road safety charity Brake, which organised the event.

The record stands at 57,476 and Brake hopes to raise more than £70,000 for the charity's support services, including the telephone helpline for families.

The attempt also highlighted the number of children killed and hurt on foot by fast traffic and the money made will aid bereaved families who have been affected by road crashes.
