Bramley Buffaloes are on the road over the Pennines this weekend, to take on East Lancashire Lions.
The game is being staged on Saturday, August 2, at the Anchor Ground, Darwen, home of Darwen FC with a 2.30pm kick off.

Buffaloes head Coach Paul Cook was pleased with his sides 34-4 win against Huddersfield last weekend in view of the fact that the club had some players missing through injury or holiday.

He said: "Sean Flynn failed a late fitness test following an injury sustained playing for England Lionhearts. We had three players missing through annual holiday, and you have to accept that at this time of year. It may affect one or two players this weekend, but we have a big strong squad to select from, so we will be OK."

East Lancashire Lions are coached by former Bramley player Darren "Daz" Greenwood. Daz joined Bramley in the club's first year back in National League 3, and led Bramley's second team, AS Captain of a young side, to a Yorkshire Regional Final of the Rugby league Conference.

"But I am at East Lancashire now," said Greenwood, "and it would be a boost for the club if we could topple Bramley, who along with Celtic Colts are the teams everyone wants to beat in this competition.

"The Lions will certainly be giving it a go".
