Wigan St. Patrick's 26.

In the 13th minutes St. Pats took the lead, with a well worked try to loose forward Mel Alker after a period of sustained pressure, this was converted by Wwingman Ian Schofield. Making the score 0-6 to St. Pats

The game continued on in much the same vein until the 22nd minute when
Buffaloes captain, Jon Nicholls burst through a gap to score. Fullback Shaun Flynn converted to level the scores at 6 all.

Six minutes from the break and the Buffaloes were awarded a penalty for foul play and Flynn stepped up to bang over the conversion. Putting the Buffaloes ahead for the first time in the game 8-6.

The second half was undertaking at the same frantic pace as the first but without the handling errors, with the coaches works ringing in the players ears.

The first points of the half came in the 50th minute, from an outrageous
forward pass more akin to American Football than the game being played, which was missed by all three officials, was a try to St. Pats Andy Parker, giving them the lead again, 8-10.

On the hour mark, speedy winger John Richardson capped a fine move with a try out wide, which was converted by Flynn, giving the advantage back to the Buffaloes 14-10.

In the 67th minute, an unsavoury tackle by hardworking Bramley Second Row, Jon Elliker, lead to a double red card with Jon, and St. Pats second row Lee Peacock being sent off.

However as Peacock had joined the melee from the dugout, St. Pats had a numerical advantage.

Four minutes later St. Pats took the lead again, with a well worked try to substitute Shaun Selby, converted again by Schofield, making the score 14-16.

Deep into Injury time Bramley scrum half Bradley Asquith, was taken out late following his kick and the Buffaloes were awarded a penalty where the ball landed.

The decision was made to go for the two and Flynn calmly banged over the penalty to level the scores. After which the referee blew for time, with the scores at 16 all, we were into extra time.

The Buffaloes started the stronger of the two sides in the opening stanza of extra time, going close to regaining the lead in the 3rd minute with an attempted drop goal from full back Flynn.

From that point on St Pats made their numerical advantage pay, with Alan
Reddecliffe scoring and Schofield converting, to make the score 16-22 and in the fist minute of the second period of extra time, St. Pats man of the match,

Anthony Atherton, scampered over to clinch the game 16-26.

Bramley Coach Paul Cook said "Fair play to St. Pats, they played well and took their chances. The game turned when Jon was Sent Off, upto that point I thought we were the stronger side, but after that St. Pats finished stronger."

"My boys have done well to take St. Pats into extra time and taking into
account this was only our second game of the year, I'm proud of them all," concluded Paul.

The Buffaloes next game is against Warrington Wizards on March 16, in the Northern Rail Cup at the Arthur Miller Stadium.
