The British Transplant Games scheduled to take place in Leeds next year
The Games, the flagship event of Transplant Sport, have been staged annually since 1978 in several host cities including Newport, Sheffield, Portsmouth, Newcastle, Cardiff, Birmingham, Exeter, Liverpool, Bolton, Belfast, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Leicester, London, Manchester, Norwich, Loughborough, Bath and Coventry.
Doctor Harden, a nephrology specialist at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust said: “We very much look forward to the prospect of a great Yorkshire welcome and bouncing back in 2021 to Leeds who have established a solid foundation for the Games whilst having an international reputation in transplantation and a huge commitment to promoting health and well-being.”

Hide AdThe 2021 Games in Leeds will be supported by Leeds City Council and hospital charity Leeds Cares, with the exact dates to be confirmed.
The Games was scheduled to be staged in the city of Coventry from July 30 to August 2 this summer but the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has meant this year’s event has been cancelled.
Transplant Sport also confirmed that the 2023 British Transplant Games would return to the city of Coventry.
